Born and raised in the small town of Cross, South Carolina—just 30 miles outside of Charleston—Pamela D. Jones Mack’s culinary journey began in her childhood kitchen. As the eldest of four sisters with working parents, Pamela discovered her natural talent for cooking while preparing meals for her siblings.

After earning her B.S. in Business Administration from Morris College, Pamela relocated to Atlanta, where she has thrived for nearly three decades. Her passion for cooking deepened over the years, transforming her weekly Sunday dinners into sought-after gatherings that showcased her exceptional culinary skills.

Pamela’s catering business, Taste of Satira, pays homage to her great-grandmother Satira Gethers, whose kitchen became Pamela’s first culinary classroom. There, she watched intently as Satira taught her aunts the art of traditional Gullah cuisine—lessons that would shape Pamela’s culinary identity for years to come.

In 2019, Garden & Gun’s prestigious Made in the South Awards recognized Pamela’s talent with the Best in Food honor. While she delights in exploring diverse culinary traditions, Pamela’s heart always returns to her Gullah Geechee roots. Each dish she prepares using her grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s recipes serves as a celebration of family and the joy of shared meals.

Embracing her great-grandmother’s philosophy, “Let me love you with my Food!”, Pamela continues the legacy of nourishing both body and soul through Taste of Satira.
